Cold Pressed vs Refined: What Your Oil Isn't Telling You
Madhura Organics · 27 July 2026

Most supermarket oil is extracted with hexane, degummed, bleached and deodorised at temperatures above 200°C. What survives is pure fat — flavourless, colourless and stripped of nutrients.
The ghani difference
A wooden ghani turns at 15–20 RPM. The temperature never crosses 40°C. Vitamin E, phytosterols, natural antioxidants and the seed's real flavour stay in the bottle.
How to spot real cold pressed oil
- It has aroma — groundnut oil should smell of groundnuts.
- Light sediment at the bottom is normal and good.
- It solidifies or thickens in winter (especially coconut).
- The label says the pressing date, not just "best before".
Your grandmother never needed a nutrition label to know this. Neither do you.
